Franco Morbidelli confident Yamaha will be able to show its potential in Indonesia

Top ten narrowly eluded Franco Morbidelli at the Qatar GP, which provided few positive memories for Monster Energy Yamaha. Now the rider faces the Indonesian GP at Mandalika looking to do more and better, as he has recent information and previous experience of the circuit.

The Italian-Brazilian rider stated that he intends to take advantage of last month’s test and the understanding gained from that work to explore the best of the YZR-M1: ‘We return to the Mandalika track. The IRTA test gave us some experience with this track, which we can use to our advantage. We made a lot of progress during those three days and have a good understanding of how we can make the most of our package to bring out our full potential.’

Morbidelli also said: ‘Judging by our earlier visit, the track conditions will be improving over the course of the three days. We know that especially sector two can be tricky, so we will be working on getting the balance of the bike just right to suit this circuit.’
