MotoGP: Where could Mir and Rins race in 2023

Since Suzuki may leave MotoGP at the end of the year a major question is where will its two riders go for 2023?

Joan Mir:

It already seems like Mir may be in talks with a team for 2023. This is the Repsol Honda Team.

It appears like Pol Espargaro will be dropped by Repsol Honda for 2023 and Mir will be his replacement. The 2020 champion has been linked to join the factory Honda team for a few years and it may finally become true.

Another team that may be on the cards is the Lenovo Ducati Team. If factory Ducati do not want to sign Miller or Martin after their underwhelming start to 2022 then they could look to Mir. The 2020 champion has a hard braking riding style and the Ducati would suit this.

Mir could return to championship winning ways with Honda or Ducati in the future.

Alex Rins:

Rins is a more difficult one to predict as there have been no rumors surrounding him.

It would be unfair if the Spaniard lost his MotoGP seat as his start to 2022 has been great.

The only factory team I could see Rins racing for in 2023 is Aprilia. But I think this would be unlikely as they will most likely stick with Espargaro and Vinales for 2023.

However, Rins could become the lead rider for whatever satellite team is likely to replace Suzuki. This would make sense as he is a talented rider and any satellite team would be lucky to have him.

Another satellite team who could sign him is LCR Honda as Alex Marquez may be replaced for 2023. Rins could follow his teammate over to Honda and get factory support in the satellite squad.

If Rins somehow couldn’t find a MotoGP ride, which I find unlikely he could make a switch to World Superbikes for 2023.
