MotoGP: Miller admits Ducati have been using squatting device since October 2019

Jack Miller revealed tonight on motogp.com that he has in fact been using the Ducati squatting device since the Thai Grand Prix back in October. Ducati has attracted attention to themselves when video footage of Jack Miller emerged where the bike ride height dropped mid corner giving him better drive onto the straight.

When bought up on after the flag Miller said “I’ve had it since Buriram, you’ve just not been looking hard enough”.

As was discussed in the MotoGP Day 1 Round Up, Ducati Team Manager Davide Tardozzi remained tight-lipped on the exact advantage of the device, when asked by MotoGP After The Flag about the ride height adjuster and what can he say about it Davide Tardozzi said “ That we are trying some new things, as a Ducati innovation we are proud to say that at least in the last five years we have bought new innovation to MotoGP bikes and we are proud of that”

This is something people are speaking about, this is something that could maybe be on the bike.

He was then asked is there something on the bike that would lower the ride height during the lap Tardozzi responded “This is something people are speaking about, this is something maybe that could be on the bike”

Seemingly Ducati have been using this device since October the data gathered would be substantial , meaning there should be a clear advantage if its been put on the remaining GP20’s.

This latest technical development comes out of the Bologna factory just as other factories have been introducing the “holeshot” device at the Sepang and Qatar tests.
