‘Yamaha cannot have three riders who don’t work and Fabio Quartararo wanting to leave’ – Chicho Lorenzo

Yamaha is in a difficult moment, as Chicho Lorenzo believes, who had a lot of criticism towards the current phase that the manufacturer is going through. In his opinion, the leadership should terminate the contract with Franco Morbidelli, as he is not trying hard and working hard enough, while his main reference Fabio Quartararo, shouldn’t be wanting to leave the current project.

On the YouTube channel ‘Motogepeando’, the father of former rider Jorge Lorenzo spoke about the current moment of Yamaha, after having already considered that it was a casting error on the part of WithU Yamaha RNF Racing to hire Darryn Binder and Andrea Doviziovo.

‘They are going through a difficult time, Yamaha cannot have an official rider getting results while the others don’t work hard. Morbidelli also came out of a knee injury that bothered him for half a year and maybe that had an influence. I don’t know, but there is something that is certainly not working for him to have his best performance, which we’ve already seen what it was’, the Spaniard told, before going further and mentioning that Yamaha should really terminate the contract with the Italian, and explain that it is not positive for the team, in addition to the poor performance that the other riders are having, Quartararo himself also wanting to leave the structure:

– Of course he doesn’t deserve the official bike, the way things are, he doesn’t deserve it. What they should do now is change, pay the termination clause or whatever. Yamaha can’t have three riders who aren’t working and one rider who wants to leave.
