The new special edition Yamaha YZF-R15 MotoGP Edition has gone on sale in India.
Yamaha YZF-R15M and MT-15 V2.0 have received a new MotoGP livery treatment for 2022. The company on Wednesday announced the launch of the 2022 Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition model line-up which also includes Aerox 155 and RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid scooters. These models will be made available for sale in India throughout the company’s premium Blue Square outlets. However, these models will be made available in the country in limited numbers.
While the YZF-R15M has been priced at Rs 1,90,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the MT-15 V2.0 will set you back by Rs 1,65,400 (ex-showroom). The new special edition bikes sport the iconic Yamaha MotoGP branding on the tank shrouds, the fuel tank and side panels, highlighting the company’s racing prowess. Apart from the aesthetic updates, the rest of the details remain unchanged on the bikes.

Both the bikes come based on the same 155cc platform. The YZF-R15 gets the familiar 155cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with a single overhead camshaft and fuel injection. This powertrain has been rated to deliver a maximum power of 18.4bhp at 10,000 rpm backed up with a peak torque of 14.2Nm at 7500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed transmission and gets features like Traction Control System and a Quick Shifter . The MT-15 V2 also gets the same engine and transmission as the YZF-R15 V2 sportbike.
