‘Fabio Quartararo is a leader that has a very low point average’ – Dennis Noyes

Fabio Quartararo has been leading the MotoGP World Cup for some time now, currently having 22 points more than second-placed Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia). However, Dennis Noyes isn’t particularly impressed with the 180 points that the Monster Energy Yamaha frenchman amassed over 12 rounds.

The journalist and former rider said on Radio Ocotillo’s Cinta Americana podcast that Quartararo’s points average is not impressive: ‘With numbers like that, it’s impossible to think about the world championship, except when there’s a leader – I don’t mean weak, but it’s a leader who has a very low point average. It’s 15 points per race with a 22 point advantage [for second] and 49 points over third place’.

Noyes also maintained that, with this score, Quartararo will not be impossible to overcome: ‘If it was a normal season – when I say normal I mean that the champion has an average of 18 to 19 points per race – when he is leaving so many points on the table it means that recovering is not that difficult. Above all, if they manage to place four of the eight Ducati in front of Quartararo’.
