Porsche 918 Spyder vs KTM RC16 – Drag Race
The first competitor here is Porsche’s hypercar, the 918 Spyder. It pumps out 857 horsepower from its 4,593cc, V8 mill while weighing in at around 1650kg. These numbers give it a power-to-weight ratio of 519 horsepower per ton.
Going against the Spyder is the KTM’s bespoke MotoGP bike, the RC16. It employs a 1,000cc, V4 engine belting out over 260 horsepower while tipping the scales at just 160kg. The power-to-weight ratio, you ask? A staggering 1,625 horsepower per ton!

As you can see the Porsche 918 Spyder regrets going against the KTM RC16 right from the get-go. However, a lot of the credit here goes to the skills of MotoGP rider Dani Pedrosa and the top-tier tech on the RC16, such as the hole-shot device. This device helps lower the entire motorcycle lower (like a drag bike) which makes helps put the power down efficiently. Had this been a superbike, the results would’ve been a lot closer because those bikes don’t feature such tech.
in comparison, cars like the 918 Spyder have four times the contact patch to put the power down, which gives them better traction and acceleration. In fact, even in the final drag race, Dani Pedrosa struggled with massive wheelspin but still won, thanks to the epic power-to-weight ratio.
