Jorge Martin made no secret of his disappointment at the press conference in Misano for not joining the official Ducati team: “I’m a little disappointed with Ducati’s decision. Bastianini deserves it, he won three races and it was incredible. It was a difficult decision, I did my best for what Ducati asked me to do. At first I felt a lot of confidence in me. At a certain point I too got hurt, I had some problems, they started to lose confidence . I talked to other factory teams, I thought about changing, but I think I have a lot to prove in Ducati Pramac, so I’m happy to stay in this team for another season, then we’ll see. “
According to the rumors reported by Motorsport, the Spaniard will receive financial compensation from Ducati, according to a clause included in the contract. Martin now wants to prove that they were wrong in Borgo Panigale: “I have an excellent contract, I am very happy, I hope to make history with Pramac, that is to win the World Cup in 2023. I hope to have the same support as Bastianini and Bagnaia to fight au pair”.
