Ducati is facing a dilemma because it has to choose one of several candidates to fill the slot in the factory team.

Jorge Martin (Pramac) and Enea Bastianini (Gresini Racing) appear among the names rumored to be appointed to the Ducati factory squad to be paired with Francesco Bagnaia for the 2023 season.

This means that Jack Miller’s position at Ducati is no longer secure.

Unfortunately, Ducati Sports Director Paolo Ciabatti made a statement saying that the Australian rider has been informed that there is no guarantee his place will remain by the 2023 season.

“First, we’ll have to wait and see what Jack Miller wants to do. Of course, we hear he’s in talks with KTM. It’s no secret. We said to Jack and his manager, Aki Ajo: if you are looking for a place in a factory team, please look at options because at the moment we cannot offer Jack a place in the factory team for 2023. So it could happen that we have five riders for two teams. Maybe in the end there are only four,” says Ciabatti.

“We want to see if we can continue with Jack [Miller] in one way or another because he is a great rider, we like him. But I think that the offer we can make to him may not be considered good enough for him and who knows, maybe he will end up going in a different direction.”

KTM is indeed targeting Jack Miller for the 2023 season to replace Miguel Oliveira who is reported to be relegated to the KTM Tech 3 team.

This is because the existing Tech 3 rider, Raul Fernandez, is said to be Razlan Razali’s target again after the RNF Racing team was confirmed to move as an Aprilia satellite next season.
