After winning the Constructors’ title, Ducati lift team title; Battle for second place is on

The battle for the MotoGP title is between Francesco Bagnaia and Fabio Quartararo, and at Sepang Ducati were unable to see their rider crowned champion. However, the manufacturer bids farewell to Sepang with reason to smile…

At the end of the race Ducati picked up a further 25 points and strengthened the gap to Aprilia after securing the Constructors’ championship title at Aragon. Heading into the final Grand Prix of the year the gap to Aprilia stands at 184 points at a stage where the battle for runner-up spot is hotly contested, Yamaha being third and five points behind. KTM, Suzuki and Honda occupy the last three positions in the table and with differences of more than 200 points to Ducati.

However, it is in the Teams’ championship that Ducati has once again secured another title in its MotoGP history. Thanks to Bagnaia’s victory and Jack Miller’s fifth place, the Ducati Lenovo Team are the 2022 champion and have achieved this feat in the face of an Aprilia Racing team that has proved consistent enough to take the fight to the penultimate race of the year; the difference between the two teams is now 113 points.

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing are third, and there is a chance that the KTM factory team could finish the year in second place. Prima Pramac Racing are also in contention for second place, as they are less than 45 points behind – points achievable by going 1-2 in the remaining race – Aprilia Racing. Also in the top six are Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP and Gresini Racing MotoGP.
