‘Marc Marquez is a phenomenon; whether or not you like what he did…’ – Carlo Pernat

In a range of four riders that it has racing in MotoGP, Honda is going to 2023 with half of its lineup of renewed athletes. With Marc Marquez and Takaaki Nakagami remaining with the Japanese manufacturer, Alex Rins and Joan Mir will be the two names that will race for the first time at the controls of an RC213V.

In the eyes of Carlo Pernat, the team from Minato – Tokyo, made a mistake when it chose to place more emphasis on the human component: ‘Honda’s management has been bad for a long time. They focused more on the human part than the technical side and this has so far not paid off’.

In an interview with PaddockTV, and quoted by Motosan, Pernat left a question in the air: ‘Honda certainly sees itself being forced to make a custom-made motorcycle for Marc Marquez, but how will Rins or Mir ride it? We know that the bike Marc competes with, others don’t know how to ride it’.

The career manager of Enea Bastianini and Tony Arbolino also highlighted the importance of #93 for the press:

– I believe that Marc’s return is very important for all the press in the world, not just for the Spanish, because he is a phenomenon. Whether or not one likes what he did is another subject to talk about.
