'Fabio Quartararo already had the same problem last year' - Carlo Pernat

Fabio Quartararo finished second in this year’s MotoGP World Championship, failing to renew his title in a year when the Yamaha YZR-M1 fell short of the competitive level of its rivals – in particular Ducati, who saw Francesco Bagnaia become champion.

Carlo Pernat, Enea Bastianini’s manager, believes Quartararo suffered from the same problem he had in 2021 – having a weaker final stretch of the season in terms of results, which in this case ultimately cost him the win’

‘When you have a lot of points in front of you, you can manage the world championship differently. Fabio already had the same problem last year, when in the last five or six races he didn’t have good results,’ Pernat told GPOne, quoted by Motosan.
