Yamaha with eyes wide open to possible Jorge Martin departure from Ducati at the end of 2023

Jorge Martin was not chosen by Ducati to replace the official MotoGP team in 2023, remaining at the Pramac satellite with full factory support. However, his future may not pass through Borgo Panigale, but through Iwata and Yamaha – which would allow him to become a true factory rider.

According to MOW Mag, the Spaniard’s contract foresees the possibility of a premature end after 2023 and Yamaha will be attentive to this clause. Martin himself takes up contacts with the director of the Japanese manufacturer, Lin Jarvis – although he continues to stress that he is determined to be champion with Ducati and believes that at Pramac he can fight for that goal.

On the Yamaha side, Fabio Quartararo looks solid until the end of his current contract in 2024 – even despite his complaints about the YZR-M1. Franco Morbidelli, on the contrary, is obliged to step up early on in the coming season to get the renewal, since this is his last year of contract and the results have been far from the potential already shown in the past.
