Rodin unveils ‘no limits’ FZERO car with ‘most intense driving experience conceivable’

Rodin Cars has announced a summer 2023 arrival for its “faster-than-an-F1-car” FZERO.

After having produced the FZED F1-based track day car, the New Zealand company has now decided to take things a step further.

At a press conference held at its Donington Park showroom, company founder and CEO David Dicker revealed what we should expect from the company’s latest track-only single-seater.

A scale model of the FZERO shows that the car will be Batmobile-like, not too unlike a Le Mans Hypercar, with a covered cockpit.

The idea is to give its owner “no limits” performance.

“We’re going to get the weight down from 698kg,” said Dicker, “with a downforce higher than you get in F1. It will easily be 50kg less than an F1 car.”

Propelled by a bespoke RCTEN 4-liter twin-turbo hybrid V10 which is linked up with a 130kW electric motor, the power unit currently gives 1100bhp, “but we’ll wind it up to 1300,” Dicker added, “while the custom electric engine will fill in the torque a bit.
