chassis

For 2016, the chassis was modified in its rigidity balance and designed in such a way that the maximum compatibility between turning and stability is achieved. The aluminum chassis with two spars is immensely light, yet offers the ideal rigidity and strength properties required to absorb and deliver more than 180 kW from the RC213V motor to the rear tire. The chassis not only offers strength, but also the right flexibility to improve tire grip.

engine

HRC took over a 4-cylinder V-engine with a capacity of 1,000 for RC213V, which can use a maximum output of 1,000 cc for 18 races in the season with 7 engines. HRC checked all the details of the new engine to make it lighter, more powerful and more driver-friendly.

suspension

For 2016 the RC213V is equipped with Ohlins suspension front and rear. The job of the undercarriage is to keep the tire in contact with the ground and achieve maximum grip when the machine encounters the thousands of bumps and bumps that appear on each lap. It’s a crucial link in the performance chain and this is why both Repsol Honda riders have a dedicated Ohlins technician.
