The unveiling of the Honda RCV 1000 MotoGP Replica was reported for EICMA 2013

Ever since Honda President Takanobu Ito announced that development of a new RC213V-inspired super sport was underway, the motorcycle has largely remained a mystery. Aside from a few patent drawings that have surfaced on the internet, Honda was absolutely thrilled with the bike.

The Italian online magazine insella.it reports in its article, which appears to be inside information, about the Honda RCV 1000 MotoGP Replica, which is to be presented at EICMA 2013. It is even stated that Honda collectors were invited to Japan for a private unveiling of the motorcycle long before the curtains were drawn at EICMA.

As can be seen from the patent drawings (via Motorcyclists.com) and the engine configuration for HRC’s MotoGP RCV 1000 motorcycle, it would most likely retain a V4 configuration that is said to produce over 200 horsepower while being equipped with the very latest in technology – art electronics package, again based on the model of Honda’s MotoGP project.

Insella also reports that the image (which looks more like a rendering) was published by Honda itself and ascribes the drawing to one of its designers. To make it look more like the Honda RC213V currently driven by Pedrosa and Marquez at the MotoGP World Championships, two mini LED lights from the Honda RCV 1000 have been shrunk and placed in the vents.

Replicating high-end MotoGP technologies on a street-legal motorcycle won’t come cheap. Rumor has it that the prices for the Honda RCV 1000 MotoGP replica motorcycle are in the range of € 100,000 (almost a whopping 85 INR if converted), which dwarfs the Ducati Desmosedici RR priced at $ 72,500. So one can assume that the RCV 1000 adorns a collector’s garage rather than rubbing shoes on asphalt.

And although the motorcycle is due to appear at EICMA 2013, the end product will not be ready until 2015. But we would still wait for Honda to publish its maps in Milan.
