MotoGP, Honda lowers the wings: Marquez with new disguise on the Sachsenring

Marc Marquez took to the track for the first free practice session at the Sachsenring with an important innovation on his Honda: a brand new fairing. A solution with lower wings (Yamaha style) that was already seen earlier this year at the Jerez tests with test rider Stefan Bradl, while Marc had tested them on the same track after the Spanish GP. He must have liked it, because he decided on the premiere on the race weekend in Germany with the only homologation of the regulations during the season. At the moment he’s the only one who has made it while all the other Honda riders have the “standard” fairing.

It’s no secret that the RC213V is in trouble and Marquez is starting to work on the motorcycle and since the Sachsenring is one of his favorite tracks and the least strenuous for his level of fitness, he would like to use this weekend to clear his head a little.

The new aerodynamics could be useful on slower tracks like the German one, although the first time in the FP1 is probably more on Marc’s right wrist than on this new feature.
