The long summer break is coming to an end and the tenth round of the MotoGP World Championship 2021 will continue this weekend with the Styrian Grand Prix.

As in the 2020 season, two races will be held at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria, following the revision of the 2021 calendar. At the Michelin Grand Prix of Styria, racing will resume after a five-week break in the middle of the season and the entire Repsol Honda Team is ready to go back to the track. The 4.3-kilometer layout of the Red Bull Ring has seen some titanic battles since 2016, and both Marc Marquez and Pol Espargaro are working to get back into the game.

For the first time since 2019, top gun Marc Marquez is celebrating a comeback on the Austrian track. There he missed the double header in 2020. The Spaniard has not yet secured victory at the Red Bull Ring and was only second out of three from 2017 to 2019. He is recovering at home with a focus on full fitness.

Pol Espargaro has bittersweet memories of the Austrian circuit in 2020. After the start, he fought for victory from pole position to the last corner. Although he had to settle for third place in the end, Espargaro clearly has pace at the Red Bull Ring. Like his team-mate from the Repsol Honda Team, Espargaro spent a large part of the break training with several days on the Honda CBR 1000RR-R Fireblade SP in preparation for the final half of the year.

Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) – What to Expect?

“I enjoyed the summer break; I was able to relax and enjoy with friends and family. It was not only good for the mind but also for the body and I feel better and stronger. I was able to increase my training, spend more time on the bike and have even returned to motocross – which is a lot of fun! But we know that the situation on the track will still not be easy and we have to keep working and staying focused. I’m looking forward to driving my Honda RC213V again and having the grandstands full again will be incredible. “

Pol Espargaro (Repsol Honda Team) – What to Expect?

“Let’s ride! It’s been a long time off the track. I’m looking forward to riding my Honda again. We’ve been training hard all summer. I’m well prepared physically for the end of the year. The Red Bull Ring is.” a unique track with a lot of hard braking and accelerating. I think it can suit us. It looks like we’re going to have full grandstands for the first time in Austria. I’m really happy to see all the fans. Hopefully we can soon to see more people on more racetracks. We didn’t have the easiest start to the season, but it’s time to keep our focus and show the potential we know. “
