MONSTER ENERGY BRITISH GRAND PRIX
MotoGP racing ranking:

Alex kidneys: 2.
Joan Mir: 9.

The usual Silverstone atmosphere broke in on Sunday for the British Grand Prix – an air of unpredictability in both weather conditions and results – and the 67,000 fans in attendance were treated to a thrilling 20-lap MotoGP ™ race.

Joan Mir and Alex Rins were quick to finish seventh and eighth on the second lap of the race, and the Team Suzuki Ecstar duo seemed eager to move in the early stages. With a few drivers between them and the top spots, making up positions wasn’t an easy task. The mission to shut down the Ducatis in front of them ended with both GSX-RR riders through on lap 6. Rins then took a step on his teammate and the two drove past Francesco Bagnaia at Turn 7. In lap 8, Rins had already made it onto the podium in third place.

After finishing second on lap 12, Rins managed to maintain that position despite pressure from Aleix Espargaro in the final laps. On a track that he really likes, he drove in his usual, smooth style and was able to take his first podium of the season.

I hold second place in the championship standings, while Rins moves up to 11th place.

Alex kidneys:

“I’m super, super, super happy because we put a lot of effort and work into getting back on the podium. It wasn’t easy because even when I had the pace, I had falls and problems. I was aiming for a top 5 finish today, but in the end I felt really good and comfortable with the bike, so I could push. I was quick, but without taking risks or making aggressive movements. It’s a great feeling to be on the podium again and to celebrate with my whole team. “

Joan Mir:

“Well, to be honest, the feeling was really good today and I was able to drive nicely and be in the positions I wanted. I felt safe with my bike and knew that I could have a good race pace. Even though my results weren’t really strong this weekend, I felt very strong in the race. But then I started fighting with the front, which was totally unexpected, and I lost a lot of time in the final laps. This problem started from the 10th round and from then on it was a bit difficult and I am disappointed because I was hoping for a better result, even the first time here. “

Shinichi Sahara – Project Leader and Team Leader:

“Today was a mixed day for us. We are very happy for Alex, he finally got a podium and he did a good job. This is his first podium of the year so it’s very nice for all of us. It was a shame for Joan because he was in really good shape and he was learning the track well, but then he had some problems with the feeling at the front. We have to investigate what happened because it cost him a few posts. But he’s still second in the championship, which is a great thing. We know that qualifying is our biggest problem right now, so we will keep working and fighting. “

Ken Kawauchi – Technical Director:

“First of all I would like to congratulate Alex, we have all waited a long time to see him on the podium again and it was a strong comeback. I hope he can go on like this. Joan’s performance wasn’t bad, but he struggled with feeling and in the end we couldn’t get the result we hoped for. But the season is not over yet, we will keep fighting and let’s see what happens. “
