This is how you see MotoGP, Grand Prix of the Americas this weekend

The spectators at DStv can look forward to the 15th round of the MotoGP World Championship 2021, the Grand Prix of the Americas, live from the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas on the afternoon of Sunday, October 3, 2021.

SuperSport is definitely your #HomeOfSport and the ultimate destination for motorsport fans.

On the final lap in San Marino, Lenovo Ducati’s Francesco Bagnaia clinched a second straight win despite the fact that Drivers’ Championship leader Fabio Quartararo of Monster Energy Yamaha came home in second to ensure he still had a strong lead of 48 points on the Italian has top of the table.

“I knew that it was very important to start well and push right from the start, because with the soft one [rear tyre], the grip was better in the beginning, ”said Bagnaia after the race. “I also knew that Fabio [Quartararo] the last part of the race would be faster with the medium.

So I just tried to be quick and consistent from the start. “I had my best start ever because I started when the lights went out, so it was amazing. I trained a lot for that. When I passed the first straight, I looked at the board and it was plus 1.0 seconds, which was incredible.

“Then I just tried to get on with the tires and the last few laps were very difficult. Fabio was making up four / five tenths a lap so it wasn’t easy. But on the last lap I just tried to do my best and my sector three was my fastest of the race. So it was great. “

Bagnaia now appears to be the only rider with a chance of chasing Quartararo in the final four races of the season, with Joan Mir (the reigning MotoGP World Champion) of Ecstar Suzuki and Johann Zarco of Pramac Ducati being too far away to to have a realistic chance.

Quartararo was delighted with second place as he expected San Marino to be a tough race where they could lose a lot of ground in the championship: “I think it’s my best [race] honestly. Of course, a win is something completely different, but I think it’s the first time that I’m so happy about second place, ”said the Frenchman.

“Not because of the championship, but I gave everything. Even at the beginning with Jack [Miller], Martin, I fought you like it was the last round. I passed Jack in a place I never expected to overtake anyone. It was a really nice race. It was what I enjoyed the most. “

The Circuit of the Americas was lucky hunting ground for Marc Marqiuez of Repsol Honda, who won six MotoGP races in a row from 2013 to 2018, while the final race in Austin in 2019 was the way of Suzuki’s Alex Rins.
