MotoGP, Dall’Igna: “The Ducati gives every rider the chance to win”

Ducati sandwiched Marc Marquez on the Mugello podium and, with Danilo Petrucci’s win, has taken its third consecutive win on the Tuscan track with three different riders. In an interview with Sky, Gigi Dall’Igna expressed all his pride.

“It’s fantastic. I am happy and proud of the work done in the past few years. Mugello is an extremely important race for Ducati because almost all of our employees come out to support us, and winning in front of them is truly satisfying”

After Dovizioso’s win in 2017 and Lorenzo’s last year, the third has now arrived with Danilo Petrucci. There has been a lot of talk about his future (since the Italian rider’s contract will be up in June), but what does Dall’Igna think about Petrux’s season so far?

“Danilo rode a great race today, like in Le Mans. In general, he has been doing well from the start, but in the early races he was lacking a bit on Sunday. In any case, he had demonstrated that he can stay out front. Today he was incredible. He seemed to be accustomed to managing situations like this, but it was his first time making a play for the win.”

One of the “hot” topics of the day is the (calmed) outburst by Jorge Lorenzo who asked Honda for a bike easier to ride and that isn’t tailored just for Marc Marquez. Is the Ducati a bike made for all its riders?

“Our riders have Different riding stylesbut I think that a good bike must be able to give the riders the possibility of finding the right setup. I have always tried to make bikes like this and I’m happy like this because I think that it is important to consistently have all your riders viewing for the positions that count on every circuit.”
