Óscar Haro attacks: ‘Yamaha rested on their own laurels, they had a balanced bike’

A lack of performance from Yamaha and Fabio Quartararo was one of the highlights of the previous weekend’s MotoGP season opener at Losail. The World Champion was already complaining of a lack of top speed and in this first race the #20 was unable to go to the front to fight for victory also due to a pressure problem in one of his tires affecting him.

In a conversation with Nico Abad, for the respective live on Twitch, Óscar Haro talked about the performance of Yamaha and criticized the manufacturer for being hostage to last year’s achievement. The former LCR sporting director also argued that both Honda and Suzuki have grown from what was 2021.

‘A disaster because of the way they started the World Cup. I learned, and it’s clear that the engineers and technicians didn’t do their duty. I can’t say who gave me the information, but when a rider tells you that his engine lacks power, you can’t tell him it’s an inline-four. Because Suzuki also has this configuration, and it’s a plane. Yamaha rested on their laurels, they had a very balanced bike. Honda took a step forward more than anybody else, Suzuki did the same, and Yamaha stayed there. Not even Fabio Quartararo’s anger should be explained’, said Haro.
